First Day of Kindergarten

Caleb is all grown up! On Thursday he began his first day of Kindergarten. He is such a big boy. He insisted on riding the bus instead of having me drive him on the first day, and when I asked if he wanted me to follow him in the car he said, "Mo-o-o-om, I'll be okay!" Lucky for me the school was offering a Boohoo (or yahoo!) breakfast for parents of Kindergarteners, so I got to drive over to the school anyway and make sure he made it off the bus and into his class. Two days down, 179 to go. This is a picture of Caleb coming off the bus his first day of school.

He IS such a big boy already!! And seems very independent to me. Cutie

ps: don't mind my husband, his brothers traumatized him as a child so some days he is a disturbed person that make love comments to other males.

Wow! Kindergarten already?!? Caleb seems to have enjoyed himself, he's still smiling. :D

Good luck with the rest of the school year.

I never understood what the big deal was when parents talked about how hard it was to send their kids off to school. Now that I have Cali getting closer to starting I can totally understand. I bet I'll be a wreck! That would be hard to let Caleb on the bus by himself. What a big brave boy he is!

We are so proud of all of you - Caleb is such a big boy and so excited to go to school - he has been waiting for this day for a long time - let's just hope he always loves learning and going to school as much as he did today . . . and MOM - you were awesome too, letting go is hard.

Oh so cute! Mitch just started this morning (and I just finished blogging about it), but we drove him today, and we'll drive him tomorrow; he'll start the bus on Monday. I think I'm most frightened of the bus -- are the kids going to be nice? Will someone sit with him? Will his teachers make sure he gets on the right bus, and will his bus driver make sure he gets off at the right stop in the afternoons?? (Since we are sending Mitch to a school outside our district, we have to take Mitch to a bus stop on the edge of his school's district, about 5 miles from home.) How did Caleb like the bus? And now that he's been in school for a week (the seasoned veteran!!), how does he like it?

Okay...so I'm a little slow getting here...2 months late! Wow...I can't believe he is in Kindergarten!!! It's crazy how fast it goes! I know it's hard at first...but I hope you are enjoying it now...just having a little one on one time w/ Matthew. I've grown to really appreciate school!
